Being Healthy includes not only physical, but mental, and social well-being. The World Health Organization describes mental health as "a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community".

Unfortunately, in addition to disease and injuries, lifestyle choices such as smoking cigarettes, poor diet, inactivity, lack of sleep, and excessive alcohol consumption can be contributing factors to poor health. There are also inherited genetic disorders that affect individuals to varying degrees. Achieving and maintaining health is an ongoing process that we desire to address on this Faith Collective website.
